Poking
Poking exercises, in which the child uses a fine tool to create perforations in card-stock, help to improve the fine motor skills associated with writing. Additionally, the child learns to correctly handle a writing instrument. Poking exercises are done by both younger and older students using seasonal related objects as well as map materials.
